Senior Software Engineer

Job description

See Tickets, the European leader in ticketing! With a healthy dose of enthusiasm and experience, we, together with 450 colleagues, working from 9 different countries, strive towards a mission. The mission is to create the ultimate fan experience for our customers; whether they are fans of sports, music, theatre, culture or entertainment!

As one of the world’s largest ticketing companies, we serve over a thousand clients from festivals to performance venues, sporting events and monuments, including Glastonbury Festival, Tomorrowland and Amsterdam Dance Event. Our state of the art ticketing solution makes millions of fans across the globe excited to purchase their tickets for their favourite events.

Within the engineering team, we consider ourselves Agile Agnostic; we take the best bits of various methodologies and skip the parts which don't make sense. Each day starts with a standup where we quickly sync progress. The team is split into multiple domains and works closely with our product managers. So at the beginning of our 2-week sprint, each domain team gets together to plan the work ahead. We also use sprint retros to recap on learnings and sprint demos to show off what we've created. But that's only the start because:

  • You get the opportunity to work on projects within the ticketing and payments domains;

  • You can contribute to the scaling up of our financial systems for use with a broader audience;

  • You’re going to be creating software that is used by millions of people in high load, high-performance environments;

  • You can have a direct impact on the revenue and profits of the company.

Our backend tech stack

  • Python, Django, Flask;

  • SQLAlchemy, MySQL;

  • Celery.

Requirements

  • Extensive development background with a focus on Web Applications and Python.

  • Deep understanding of design patterns and more importantly how to apply them.

  • You dig into the inner mechanics of software, you should be able to build a framework, not only use it.

  • You can guide and coach other developers to help them grow; whilst also still on your own learning journey.

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field.

  • High attention to detail for reviews of requirements, designs, technical solution proposals and of course others code.

  • You’re fun to hang out with and like to be as helpful and collaborative as us.

What we have to offer you

  • Relocation package in case you’re coming from outside The Netherlands;

  • Company pension plan (we contribute to it!);

  • Laptop with the operating system of your choice;

  • A young, dynamic, and ambitious team;

  • A centrally located office only a 5-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station, or a centrally located office in the city of Groningen (Due to COVID-19, we’re all WFH);
